Maspernet

Software for an insurance loss-adjusting practice: case files, expert assignments, inspections, versioned reports, documents and invoicing in one working environment.

In production · ongoing development

01 / CONTEXT

What the platform does

Maspernet is the operational platform used by Master Peritas S.L., an insurance loss-adjusting practice. It supports the work that starts when an insurer commissions an assessment and continues through assignment, inspection, valuation, reporting and billing.

The case file connects that process. Experts, coordinators, quality reviewers and administration staff work with the information relevant to their responsibility: the claim, its contacts and location, visits, communications, documents and financial records. A desktop-style web interface lets users keep several modules open and return to an ongoing task without losing their working context.

The platform is in production and continues to evolve. Maspernet 3.0 modernises a .NET Framework application with Blazor Server while retaining the business rules and established processes that the practice relies on.

02 / THE CHALLENGE

The problem to solve

An insurance case involves several people, deadlines and exchanges with external organisations. Different insurers require different information, while an inspection, a progress update and a final report each have their own meaning and sequence.

The challenge was to bring that complexity into a coherent working environment and modernise an existing application without treating established business rules as disposable. The same platform also needed to support multiple companies and departments, with access determined by the user's responsibilities in each company.

03 / THE SOLUTION

How it works

A case file that follows the real process

A claim can enter through an insurer integration or be created manually. Its file brings together classification, people, location, assignments, deadlines, progress updates, inspections and supporting documents. Recording an event applies business checks to the current state and timing of the case; it is more than adding another note.

Reports that preserve professional judgement

Reports have versions, configurable sections and valuation schedules associated with the insurer and period. Issuing a version freezes it. Generated text is kept separate from the expert's own writing, so refreshing prepared content does not overwrite professional observations. The document workflow includes Word generation and PDF signing.

From operational work to billing

Case billing sits alongside sales and purchase documents, customers and suppliers, numbering series, payment methods, collections and reconciliation. Judicial summons, calendars and expert availability support the activities surrounding a case. The aim is to keep the work and its administrative follow-up connected throughout their lifecycle.

Company-specific organisation

Users can belong to different companies and departments. Menus and permissions reflect that context, while the platform administration console handles shared configuration and system oversight. A windowed desktop, configurable widgets and internal messaging give staff several ways to organise their daily work.

Connections with the outside world

The platform includes insurer-specific importers, browser extensions for portals without suitable APIs, cadastral enquiries and mapping services. Document management provides folders, metadata, search and permissions. AI integrations use registered tools and recorded consumption rather than unrestricted database access.

Production and continued development

The current platform runs on Windows Server and IIS. Modernisation continues by functional area, with some established modules retained during the transition. Linux deployment and containers remain a later infrastructure step. The operational value is a connected case lifecycle and a clearer basis for evolving the software.
